Decisions, Decisions: Cannabis Communications for Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Many pregnant and breastfeeding people aren't aware that cannabis use can harm their baby's health. Mothers want the best for their babies and don't want to cause any health risks. At the same time, they're dealing with many changes in motherhood, and cannabis can provide relief. As health communicators, we can help pregnant and breastfeeding women understand the latest science and risks of using cannabis and provide alternate, safer methods to get the relief they need.

In our ad "Decisions, Decisions," we explain that when mothers use cannabis, the THC can reach their babies and may lead to certain complications. Our messages focus on sharing proven, scientific messages about the risks of cannabis use in an empathetic way.

For pregnant and breastfeeding women, cannabis use serves many purposes, such as helping with pain relief, relaxation, and mental health challenges. Our campaign shares alternatives to cannabis use that can help them in the short term. On the website, we provide lists of healthy alternatives based on the type of relief mothers need.
