The challenges of 2020 have created unique mental health struggles and many teens are citing vaping as a way to cope. However, vaping can have the opposite effect on teen's mental health. In response, we launched a new ad for our teen vaping prevention campaign Behind the Haze that speaks to this issue.
“The Great Manipulator” addresses the connection between vaping and mental health by educating teens on how nicotine manipulates the mind and can affect their emotions. Leveraging evidence-based messaging and a teen-friendly animation style, “The Great Manipulator” provides an unbiased, easy-to-understand explanation of how nicotine can impact neurotransmitters in the brain that are linked to stress, anxiety, and depression.
In message testing, teens liked that the ad provided a specific and scientific explanation for how vapes can manipulate the mind. They also stated that the animation style, bold colors, and narration really captured their attention.
“The Great Manipulator” became available in April for licensing as part of a comprehensive Message Package, including over 30 corresponding social/digital ads and posts. 15 states have used Behind the Haze as part of their teen vaping prevention efforts, contact us to bring this ready-made and pre-tested campaign to your community.
